Colorado Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Consulting and Coaching Market & Collaborative Analysis

In October 2022, Slow Integration Coaching's Sarah Rimmel collaborated with Energize Colorado and the Consumer Insights & Business Innovation Center (CIBIC) at the Daniels College of Business to analyze the Colorado DEI Consulting and Coaching field. The initiative aimed to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for small business owners engaged in DEI work. Through comprehensive data analysis, the project sought to understand industry norms, foster collaboration, and promote growth.

The project's goal is to address societal issues by leveraging the unique skills and commitment of DEI practitioners. Despite industry dynamism and diverse providers, the field faces misunderstanding and undervaluation. Collaboration among practitioners, and support from the broader community, could significantly impact Colorado, enhancing outcomes and supporting positive change.

Further Intentions:

Social issues occurring in the world are connected to what we pay attention to and don’t pay attention to, histories uplifted and erased, ideologies that are embedded in our systems, interactions, bodies, minds, and hearts, and much more. Put another way, organizations continue to experience challenges in effectively hiring, retaining, and engaging their diverse workforces. This is where DEI practitioners come in.

Rather than doing things the same way expecting different results, DEI practitioners support people to think and act differently. DEI professionals are developed in a unique combination of competencies to help organizations and individuals change and improve their outcomes– all under the umbrella of DEI+ solutions.

In the report, learn about this dynamic industry, how people approach their work, common challenges, and recommendations.
