Community Somatic Activations
BACKSTORY
My Personal Invite & Footage from Kickoff
This series was born out of a need to gather to practice being more coordinated, connected, and prepared to handle these times. To meet aligned people, move our bodies, minds, spirits; and gain new perspectives. Many of us have lived a lifetime of coping strategies that have worked okay enough. If you’re feeling called, for something a little more supportive, a little more sustainable, a little more honoring of more parts of you, this is a space for gently connecting back again with your body.

This series was born out of a need for us to gather to practice being more coordinated, connected, and prepared to handle these times. To meet aligned people, move our bodies, minds, and spirits; and gain new perspectives. This is a curated gathering to build your skills in a nourishing and relaxing environment, and remember the ways we have the inner and outer resources that we need to interrupt the status quo.
Thank you to Priyanka & Gyslaine for supporting this vision! Thank you to the special guests who will join various dates to bring their expertise and hearts: Jeanne Weintraub, Priyanka Guragain, Majidah Hosein, Eutimia Cruz Montoya, and Victoria Carrington Chávez. Finally, thank YOU for trusting us and considering joining.

While there are no guarantees, you can anticipate learning an introduction and/or deepening:
Somatic awareness skills (centering, titrating, attuning, pausing, reorienting, savoring)
Embodied leadership and trust to support boundaries and needs
Relational and community care approaches
Plus access to virtual on-going practice space to grow your embodiment with others

This is offered at a flat rate of $390 per person. This includes the full-day gathering plus 3 months of access to a weekly virtual drop-in somatic group. Additional contributions will support the subsidy fund for others to participate at a lower rate.
Here’s my statement on financial accessibility, which includes a link to a sample letter to submit to your team to ask for professional development funds to cover this training.
If this cost is inaccessible, please email hello@sarahrimmel.com to apply for a discounted ticket and/or explore trade/barter/volunteer. Nobody is turned away who wants to attend.
-
The event is non-refundable. If something comes up for you, please let us know 4 days before the event. You are welcome to apply the costs to another service (this year) and/or give your ticket to a colleague/friend. In the case we need to cancel a date, we will get in touch with you with options to change to another date and/or receive a refund. Guests and skills shared are subject to change.

This is for people wanting to building self and collective capacity — one relationship at a time, moving at the speed of trust. This is for change-makers, organizers, founders, philanthropists, caregivers, and leaders exhausted by systems that continue to wear people down despite deep care and effort. This is for people seeking ways to strategize, organize, and collaborate across movements, industries, and sectors. This is for those of us who know what it is to feel numb, shutdown, and exhausted and believe there is another way. This is for you.

We have inherited mindsets, beliefs, systems and team cultures that operate in ways counter to care, healing, and balance. Much of organizational change work, HR work, strategic planning, and conflict navigation has traditionally emphasized intellectual and compartmentalized approaches over body, mind, and spirit aligned approaches. You may find yourself working within structures and systems that contribute to burnout, disconnection, and inequity despite the intentions of our leaders, selves, and colleagues.
At these gatherings, we invite a broader approach by weaving embodiment into the internal and external challenges you face and the ways you engage at work and at home. Somatics is a methodology and change theory by which you can embody transformation individually and collectively (Generative Somatics). It is not a new practice, and many indigenous and other cultures have been practicing an embodied, mind, spirit, and nature-connected approach despite efforts to remove these ways of being.

No preparation needed other than curiosity. We do ask that you bring a journal, a sweater or layers to stay cozy, and any particular special food and/or snacks you may need.
If you have it, please also bring your favorite yoga mat and a blanket to sit/lay on the floor.
We’ll have GF and gluten-based snacks, tea, and coffee available to eat for lunch once folks arrive. You are welcome to bring anything to support your own dietary needs and preferences. We have a refrigerator, microwave, mugs, and tea kettle.
Please note that this is a home with a long-haired dog (who will not be present). If you have allergies to dog hair, please prepare as you can and/or be in touch.

This is not therapy (nor is this team or group coaching). This space is not designed for people or teams currently experiencing active conflict, crisis intervention needs, or HR-related tensions. Those contexts require additional onboarding and support. This is a space to learn new skills and practice them; to gain new perspectives. The concepts and educational ideas shared are not legal, professional, and/or medical advice. Please reach out if you have any questions.
